Welcome to the Alcohol and Health Research Grants Scheme website. The aim of the Scheme is to provide financial support for independent research into the potential effects of alcohol consumption.

The grants are available to post-graduate researchers on a competitive basis and as determined by  the Grants Scheme Committee. Following the succesful launch of the Scheme in Australia in 2007, we are now extending the scheme to include NZ based applicants.

Initial applications will be assessed by the Committee, and a short list chosen. Investigators on the short list will be asked to submit a full application which will then be sent to independent referees before a final decision is made by the Committee.
